Retell, Remix and Rejoice is back! Pratham Books’ annual World Storytelling Day contest is now in it’s 6th year and this year we’re giving it a slight twist. One we hope you’ll find fun and challenging.
Instead of sharing a set of illustrations from popular Pratham Books titles to remix into a brand new story, this year we’re giving you themes to weave your stories around. Plus, we’re asking you to help us create books in one of two reading levels: Level 1 and Level 2.
A recent report ‘Mapping Children’s Literature in India’ by the Sir Ratan Tata Trust and Parag revealed a huge shortage of quality stories for our youngest readers (0-6 years), especially in Indian languages. We want your help in creating joyful stories for the next generation of book worms in English, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi and Tamil.

The three best manuscripts will receive a hamper of Pratham Books’ latest titles, a printed copy of their own book and detailed feedback from our Senior Editors at Pratham Books. One finalist’s book will be chosen for re-illustration.
